Joint International Bachelor’s Program in Biology between Dokuz Eylül University and Ganja State University

 

The program in question is an international joint education and training program in the field of “Biology” conducted jointly between Dokuz Eylül University and Ganja State University (Azerbaijan), aiming to award a single bachelor’s degree. Students undergo half of their education in Turkey and the other half in Azerbaijan on a rotational basis.

 

Program Features

 

Education in two countries: The relevant joint bachelor’s program will provide students from both sides with a unique experience and ensure successful adaptation to the rapidly accelerating globalization, along with the opportunity to study in two different countries and universities.

 

Two different cultures: In these programs, students will get to know two different cultures closely. Based on the achievements in this program, students will be able to achieve significant success in the field of Biology both nationally and internationally.

 

Approved by YÖK (Higher Education Council), quality education: Students in this program will receive a jointly approved diploma by both institutions upon graduation.

 

Education Model: The duration of education for the international joint bachelor’s program conducted jointly between Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Science and Ganja State University Faculty of Chemistry-Biology is four years. Students will study the 1st and 2nd years of their undergraduate education at Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Science and the 3rd and 4th years at Ganja State University Faculty of Chemistry-Biology. The language of instruction in the program is Turkish at Dokuz Eylül University and Azerbaijani Turkish at Ganja State University. To start their education at Dokuz Eylül University, candidates who have graduated from relevant institutions abroad and gained the right to enroll in the mentioned joint program must have a Turkish Proficiency Certificate at level C1 (sufficient Turkish) or at level B1 (Turkish proficiency can improve rapidly. They start their education but must raise their Turkish proficiency level to level C1 by the time of graduation). For students starting their education at Ganja State University, if they do not meet the language requirement based on the results of the Azerbaijani Language Proficiency Exam, Ganja State University organizes one-year language courses.

 

Joint Bachelor’s Program between Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Science & Ganja State University Faculty of Chemistry-Biology

 

An agreement has been made between Dokuz Eylül University and Ganja State University for a joint bachelor’s program. Within the scope of this agreement, Dokuz Eylül University Faculty of Science and Ganja State University Faculty of Chemistry-Biology have established joint cooperation for a bachelor’s program in Biology leading to a single diploma.

 

This program will start admitting students as of the 2023-2024 academic year. Turkish citizens will be admitted to the program based on their SAY scores in the Transition to Higher Education Examination (TYT) and the Higher Education Institutions Examination (AYT) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Foreign students will be admitted to the program through the Foreign Student Admission Exam (DEYÖS). Admission conditions for students from Ganja State University will be determined by Ganja State University in accordance with the provisions of the legislation on “Education of Azerbaijani Republic citizens in foreign countries, foreigners, and stateless persons in the Republic of Azerbaijan,” dated 01.05.2015, No. 125.

 

For the 2023-2024 academic year, the quota allocated for Turkish citizens in the joint bachelor’s program is 25 (twenty-five), while it is determined as 15 (fifteen) for citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The annual tuition fee for the 1st and 2nd years of this program for the academic year 2023-2024 is 15,000 TL. There will be certain increases in these fees every year, and they will be paid to Dokuz Eylül University in two equal installments at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
